Rad Sports Analytics LLC
Terms of Use
Effective date: August 12, 2026
These Terms govern API access and API data provided through CollegeFootballData.com and CollegeBasketballData.com, both of which are operated by Rad Sports Analytics LLC.
By registering for, accessing, or using an API provided through the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the API. Commercial-use permissions and restrictions are set out in Sections 3 through 6.
1. Definitions
- Services
- CollegeFootballData.com, CollegeBasketballData.com, their APIs, and the related API-access services operated by Rad Sports Analytics LLC.
- API Data or Raw Data
- Factual data, fields, records, files, and responses delivered by an API, including stored or normalized copies that retain substantially the same informational content.
- Derived Outputs
- Independently created analyses, visualizations, models, model weights, rankings, predictions, projections, summaries, and other outputs produced by transforming, interpreting, or combining API Data, rather than reproducing a substantial portion of the Raw Data.
- Commercial Use
- Use in connection with a paid, subscription-supported, advertising-supported, affiliate-supported, consumer, client, or internal business product or activity.
- Redistribution
- Providing API Data itself to a third party as a standalone dataset, bulk download, raw feed, database mirror, substitute API, or substantially equivalent data service. Reasonable display and ordinary exports permitted by Section 4 are not Redistribution.
- Application
- Any website, app, dashboard, newsletter, research product, client deliverable, internal tool, model, or other product or service that accesses, uses, displays, or incorporates API Data or Derived Outputs.
- Applicable Platform
- The Rad Sports Analytics platform whose API you access or whose API Data you use. For API access through this site, the Applicable Platform is CollegeFootballData.com (CFBD).
2. API Access and Key Security
- Each user or organization receives an API key tied to a verified email address and the Applicable Platform.
- API keys are non-transferable and may be used only by the individual or organization to whom they are issued.
- You are responsible for securing your key. Keep it in server-side configuration and do not expose, transfer, publish, or embed it in a public repository, browser bundle, mobile app, or other client-side code.
- You may not give third parties direct or programmatic access to your key or to stored raw API responses.
3. Subscription Tiers, Quotas, and Platform Access
- Standard API tiers provide the same commercial-use rights. Tiers primarily determine the shared API quota pool and any other service features expressly listed for that tier. There is no separate commercial API tier.
- Requests to CFBD and CBBD count against the same shared quota pool for your subscription tier. API keys remain subject to any published rate limits, endpoint access, and other restrictions. Exceeding the shared quota or another usage restriction may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access.
- One subscription covers both CFBD and CBBD. You do not need to purchase a separate subscription for each platform.
- The APIs remain separate services with their own endpoints, but their requests draw from the shared quota pool. Any additional platform-specific access or feature differences will be expressly listed by the Applicable Platform.
- An Application may combine CFBD and CBBD API Data and Derived Outputs under the same subscription, subject to these Terms and the shared quota pool and any expressly listed access restrictions.
- Do not use multiple accounts, alias accounts, disposable email services, or other methods to circumvent quotas, authentication, or access restrictions.
4. Commercial Use and Permitted Uses
Subject to these Terms, the shared quota pool, and any other expressly listed usage limits, you may:
- use API Data in free or paid websites, applications, dashboards, newsletters, research products, client work, and internal business tools;
- privately cache, store, normalize, and retain API responses;
- display reasonable portions of factual API Data as part of a larger product;
- perform historical analysis, backtesting, feature engineering, and model training;
- publish and commercialize independently created analyses, models, model weights, predictions, projections, rankings, visualizations, and other Derived Outputs;
- export ordinary reports, query results, and Derived Outputs that do not function as a bulk copy of API Data; and
- retain API Data retrieved while your access was active in a private historical corpus after API access or a subscription ends, while continuing to comply with these Terms.
Server-side caching and scheduled polling are encouraged when they reduce unnecessary API traffic. Scraping, excessive polling, or activity that degrades the Services is prohibited.
5. Prohibited Redistribution
You may not:
- sell, sublicense, publish, or provide API Data as a standalone dataset or bulk download;
- operate a raw feed, public database mirror, proxy, substitute API, or substantially equivalent data service;
- give customers direct or programmatic access to stored raw API responses;
- expose, transfer, publish, or embed an API key in public or client-side code;
- use multiple accounts or other methods to circumvent quotas or access restrictions; or
- represent API Data as official data from the NCAA, a conference, a school, a league, or another third party.
6. Attribution
Attribution is appreciated but not required. When practical, we recommend “Data provided by CollegeFootballData.com.” If an Application uses both platforms, we recommend “Data provided by CollegeFootballData.com and CollegeBasketballData.com.”
7. Product-Specific Licenses
These Terms govern API access and API Data. Downloadable data packs, notebooks, templates, examples, and source code are governed by the licenses included with those products. If a product-specific license conflicts with these general API Terms, the product-specific license controls for that product.
8. Third-Party Rights
Nothing in these Terms grants rights to team, conference, tournament, or league names as trademarks; logos; player names or likenesses; broadcast content; photographs; video; audio; or any other third-party intellectual property. You are responsible for obtaining any rights your Application requires.
9. Data Accuracy, Availability, and Support
The Services and all API Data are provided “as-is” and without warranty. Although Rad Sports Analytics LLC strives for accuracy, it does not guarantee completeness, correctness, or timeliness. No particular field, endpoint, correction schedule, availability level, stable identifier, or support response time is guaranteed. Rad Sports Analytics LLC may modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue an API or feature at any time without notice.
Neither CFBD nor CBBD provides a service-level agreement (SLA) unless one is established in a separate written agreement.
10. Legal Compliance and Betting-Related Uses
You are responsible for ensuring that your Application, including betting-related analysis, paid picks, advertising, or affiliate activity, complies with applicable law. CFBD, CBBD, and Rad Sports Analytics LLC do not operate or endorse a sportsbook and do not guarantee predictions, wagering results, or financial outcomes.
11. Client Libraries and Integrations
Third-party client libraries, wrappers, and integrations are not operated or warranted by Rad Sports Analytics LLC. The Services are not responsible for their bugs, missing features, security, or performance. Any official library or example remains subject to its included license.
12. Enforcement and Termination
Rad Sports Analytics LLC may revoke or suspend API access without notice for abuse, violation of these Terms, nonpayment where applicable, or behavior that negatively affects a platform, its users, or its infrastructure. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination—including restrictions on Redistribution, disclaimers, and obligations governing retained API Data—remain in effect.
13. Changes to These Terms
Rad Sports Analytics LLC may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date and take effect when posted. Continued API use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
